You Decide

The sun sinks low in a red ribboned sky
The day she rests until morn
The whippoorwill sounds her evening cry
I come home to my true love awhile

Chorus:
Find what you love
And love what you find
Be someone who likes it this way
You get to choose, you decide
What in your life matters today

The sea has never been so blue
And the clouds never so fine
Our boat just now she sails so true
Says the lover of mine

Chorus

Laugh and the world laughs with you
Weep you weep alone
Mama has always said
All those phrases sages whisper in my head
Guiding me,
Guiding me on

The sun sinks low in a red ribboned sky
The day she rests until morning
The whippoorwill sounds her evening cry
I come home to my true love awhile

Chorus

Song Origins:
I travel extensively in my work.  I love coming home to my husband, John.  He has such optimism and present-mindedness.  He brings out the best in me.
The song came from a combination of thoughts – appreciating John, remembering my mother’s numerous wise and pithy sayings, and the power of being intentional or choiceful about my moment-by-moment actions as cultivated in a course called QuantumThink, by Dianne and Alan Collins. Life is, simply put, about all these things: Activating your wisdom and that from others, and making moment-by-moment choices in an appreciative way.

Jen’s Favorite Line:
Be someone who likes it this way

Question to Contemplate:
What is wanted best in this situation? What legacy of thinking/acting/being am I carrying forward?
