Sing With the Wind
Adapted from the book "Sing with the Wind" by Winston Abbott, Inspiration House Publishers

Because you are a kindred spirit,
Come brother come
Stand beside me on this old hill
In the lingering warmth of the sun

And rest awhile, rest awhile
Beneath the apple tree
In the fragrant breeze
And whispered song
Of sweet serenity

Chorus:
Sing with the wind
Sing with the wind
Here upon this peaceful hill
Listen, and let your troubled heart
Sing with the wind
Let your troubled heart be still

Here on this familiar hill
We’re close, you and I
Close to the things eternal
The things beyond the sky

Chorus

Because you are a kindred spirit,
Come sister come
Sing with the wind in the gathering dusk
Listen, for it sings a song of love

Chorus

Song Origins:
There is a beautiful poem of the same title by Winston Abbott.  I fell in love with the words – about a place of peace and presence on a hill surrounded by nature’s Divine grace.  Thanks to the generosity of Inspiration House Publishers, I was able to use the adaptation on my album.  I live on a hill surrounded by apple trees.  It is as if Winston was describing our place when he wrote the poem. Sunrise Hill, as it is called, is the hallowed ground of the Armouchiquois Native American tribe and later, Cape Porpoise settlers.  It is now in our loving care and welcomes ‘brothers’ and ‘sisters’ from around the world to my retreat workshops.

Jen’s Favorite Line:
Here on this familiar hill we’re close, you and I. Close to the things eternal, things beyond the sky.
