Angels in Front of Me

Goethe and Coolidge, well they had it right
What you do or dream you can if you believe you can
But when shadows grow long and I’ve lost my path
I imagine the angels carry me back

Chorus:
Angels in front of me
Angels behind me
Angels all around
What if it were true
And angels surrounded you
Would you feel warm, and safe, and loved, and blessed
No longer afraid, your heart at rest

So who would you become if the unseen were real
Would you live out the promise – what brings you here
And with deep rooted trust that you’re not alone
Can you feel it  (You’re cradled)
Don’t it feel like home

Chorus

Hey let’s not quibble let’s keep the faith
Our days are much better that way
The Heavens hold secrets to the unseen
All we need do is believe

Chorus
Song Origins:
This is a mantra I use while driving in foul weather: “Angels are in front of me, angels are behind me. Angels are all around. I’m warm. I’m safe. I’m loved. I’m blessed.” And it works. It calms me right down. My hands unclench from the steering wheel and I relax in the belief that I am held -- I am cradled – and all will be OK.
I don’t pretend to know what the truth is about angels and the existence of a Divine presence. But I choose to believe.

Jen’s Favorite Line:
Can you feel it?  You’re cradled
Don’t it feel like home.

Question to Contemplate:

What if it were true?
